Children and minors policy
How we protect anyone under 18 on this website and in campus, learning and public-space deployments.
1. Why this policy exists
iViRTH works with campuses, schools and learning programmes, and some of our infrastructure sits in public spaces. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 a "child" is anyone under 18. This policy explains how we protect children and minors on our website and in deployments.
2. This website
The website is for organisations and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data of anyone under 18 through it, and we do not offer accounts, profiles, chat or user-generated content. If you are under 18, please ask a parent, guardian or teacher to contact us for you. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, tell us at hello@ivirth.in and we will delete it.
3. Our principles
- Verifiable parental consent. We process a child's personal data only with verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian, or where the law provides an exemption (for example certain educational-institution purposes).
- No tracking, profiling or targeted advertising. We do not track, monitor the behaviour of, or target advertising at children, and we do not process children's data in a way likely to cause them harm.
- Minimum data. Only what a defined educational or safety purpose needs, kept for the shortest period, with role-based access and deletion on request.
- Institutions stay in charge. At a school or college, the institution decides purposes and consent routes; iViRTH acts as its processor under a written agreement.
- Age-appropriate by design. Experiences for learners, such as trails, badges and credentials through Helix and measurement through ViSE, are scoped by age group, with the least identifying option as the default.
4. Campuses, learning programmes and public spaces
Before any pilot involves learners, we agree in writing: the purposes, the consent mechanism, who can see what, retention and deletion, and how parents or guardians can ask questions. Programmes for K-12 clubs and learning activities, where in scope, have their own notices. In public spaces, infrastructure such as the Smart Solar Bench V1.0 Base is not designed to identify individuals; any future sensing is subject to the privacy review described in the privacy notice.
5. Safeguarding and reporting
If you are worried about a child's safety or about how a child's data is being handled in connection with iViRTH, write to hello@ivirth.in with the subject "Child safety". If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services (112 in India) or Childline (1098). We will treat reports seriously, limit who sees them, and cooperate with the relevant authorities.
6. Rights of parents and guardians
A parent or guardian can ask to see, correct or erase a child's data, and withdraw consent, through data rights and grievances. For data held by a school or college, we will route the request to the institution and help it respond.
